I ask that of people and some people are all excited telling me of the things they are trying like a new business or investigating a new property. Others that know the game and are not taking action in their own lives just shrug their shoulders and shake their head “no” and say in regret “I am trying to ….pay off debt….get my course done……deal with my sick mom……change jobs…….blah, blah, blah”.
What’s your story? I had mine. My friend’s story is that he is stuck in a dead end job going nowhere, needs a “kick in the butt” but just isn’t motivated to do anything about it. He wants to get married, go on an all inclusive vacation, and wants to buy another investment property, but just can’t get started.
Here’s the trick, practice. Practice so much that it just seems natural when an opportunity comes along and guess what, they always do. Keller talks about his in his book when he says “Champions take the luck out the game” by learning from other people and their strategies. Kiyosaki distilled a lot of these principles in his Cashflow game and I love playing with new strategies because “some of MY best thinking was done by OTHER people”-Keller.
I am holding another study group next Wednesday March 30th at 6:30pm in my Mississauga office with a group of budding real estate investors who are going over some of the principles in the Millionaire Real Estate Investor book. They have homework from last week to talk to at least 2 real estate agents and bring a deal to share. I am going to introduce the concept of passive residual income afterward with a presentation by a Millionaire on how he made his first million in business building and how we can play the cashflow game in real life.
